About Us

NumberDrop was built for anyone who needs random numbers without the friction.

We are a small team of developers and data practitioners who got tired of opening bloated software, signing into accounts, or wrestling with spreadsheets just to generate a batch of normally distributed values. So we built the tool we wished existed: fast, focused, and entirely browser-based.

What we believe

No signup walls

You don't need an account to generate numbers. You don't need one to export CSVs. You don't need one to save presets in your browser.

Reproducibility matters

Science, gaming, simulation, and QA all depend on knowing you can get the exact same sequence again. Seeds are first-class here, not an afterthought.

Batch work should be easy

If you need twelve different configurations, you should be able to queue them, run them, and download one consolidated file. Not twelve.

How it works

Everything runs client-side in your browser. Your data never hits our servers. The distributions (uniform, normal, exponential, Poisson) are implemented using well-documented algorithms, and the seedable PRNG ensures cross-session reproducibility.

Who it's for

Developers writing tests. Tabletop gamers rolling digital d20s. Students running Monte Carlo simulations. Data analysts who need controlled randomness. If you need numbers, drop in and get them.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

Almost nothing. The tool runs entirely in your browser. When you generate numbers, export a CSV, or queue a batch job, all of that processing happens on your device. It does not pass through our servers.

The only information we might receive is standard server log data that our hosting provider collects automatically: your IP address, browser type, the page you visited, and the time of your visit. We do not use this data to identify you, profile you, or sell it to anyone.

What stays on your device

If you save a preset or set a seed, that information is stored in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your computer. If you clear your browser data or use incognito mode, those presets disappear with it. We cannot access them, restore them, or delete them for you.

Cookies and third parties

We do not use tracking cookies. We do not run third-party advertising. If we ever add analytics to understand how the site is used, we will use a privacy-respecting provider and update this policy.

Security

Because nothing you generate is transmitted to us, there is no server database of your random numbers to breach. Your outputs are as secure as your own browser.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of the site means you accept the revised policy.

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2026

By using NumberDrop, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What you get

We provide a free, browser-based tool for generating random numbers across several statistical distributions. We may add, remove, or change features at any time without notice.

What you don't get

This site is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the random numbers generated are suitable for cryptographic security, gambling, medical decisions, or any other high-stakes purpose. The underlying algorithms are standard and well-documented, but we make no warranties about their fitness for any specific use.

We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that result from your use of the site, including but not limited to lost profits, corrupted data, or decisions made based on the numbers generated.

Your responsibilities

You agree not to:

Intellectual property

The code, design, and branding of NumberDrop belong to us. The numbers you generate belong to you. Do whatever you want with them.

Termination

We reserve the right to block access to the site for any reason, including abuse or behavior that threatens the stability of the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You and NumberDrop agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the State of California.
